María Barbancho is a founding partner of STRAFVERTEIDIGER and a lawyer specialising in criminal law.

María Barbancho holds a German Abitur and completed half of her studies at the University of Heidelberg, which gives her an excellent understanding of the German legal system. In her work as a lawyer, Ms Barbancho successfully advises, represents and defends private individuals as well as large companies before the Spanish courts. Since 2021, she has also been appointed as a lawyer to the Board of Directors of the Football Association of Catalonia. Her main areas of practice include general criminal law and white collar criminal law. She also specialises in cross-border cases (e.g. European Arrest Warrant and extradition proceedings), on which she also teaches at the Barcelona Bar Association.
